Give away CDs and DVDs

Charity shops often accept CDs and DVDs for re-sale.

These discs are accepted at some local recycling centres but this service does vary across the country. It's best to check with your local council.

Another option is to give them away on Freecycle, and Freegle.

Cassettes and VHS tapes

In most local council areas videotapes cannot be put in your recycling bin because of the chemical content found on the tape itself, and even some recycling centres will not accept them. Always check ahead with your local waste centre to see if they can advise further.
