Kitchenware
Pass on your items locally using Olio
Olio is a free app available in 49 countries. Their mission is to connect neighbours on an online platform to share food, and other things, rather than throw them away. Although it’s main focus is sharing food, you can use the app to list kitchen items to support those in need locally.
All you need to do is take a photo of the items you’re giving away, and then set up your pick-up location. You will receive a notification when you have a request from someone and the next step is decide how to connect to pass on your items. My clients have used this app successfully in the past.
Donate items to Charity
The BHF regularly take kitchenware items in their charity shops. They may even be able arrange a pick up to collect them.
The Octavia Foundation and Age UK are also happy to receive kitchen items. If you wish to make a large donation to The Octavia Foundation and are unable to donate these items to your local shop, they are able to offer a collection service. For Age UK, simply take your donations to any of their shops on the high street. They also offer a collection service to some areas.
The Reuse Network
The Reuse Network accept kitchen items as well as a whole range of household items like furniture, flooring/carpets and electrical appliances. With hundreds of reuse centres around the U.K. check out their website locator tool to find a centre near you.
